Good leaders weren't born with certain leadership skills. Research over the past few years has shown that leadership is a set of skills and practices that can be learned. Anyone who wants to learn and is exposed to leadership development opportunities can become a leader.
I'm not sure I agree with that statement above. I have found by experience that some people are never going to be leadership material. Unless we are saying that people who go to Toastmasters, those that make that decision to come, obviously have an ability to be leaders.

Perseverance is the vital ability to rise after failing and falling. Those who lead always experience setbacks but they manage to step up and move on.  Silent screen movie star Mary Pickford, perhaps reflecting on her own life and career, wrote: "if you have made mistakes. yes even serious mistakes, there is always another chance for you.  And supposing you have tried and failed again and again, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down,
but the staying down."

150% I agree with this statement in this box.. Yes, we do fall often, the secret definitely is not to stay down. Get up and run again.

You have the names on the left, even though a bit faded.
It will be fun for you to try and put a name with the faces.
If you have the May Toastmaster magazine I guess you can use a magnifying glass.
Have fun....
