SATIRE

I have no hesitation in saying that many ministers  believe, that all they have to do in preparing a talk, is get it ready, and then let it fly on Sunday. Studies have shown that even though many people sitting in front of a minister appear to be listening. The truth is they are not listening at all.

The minister needs to be trained, to be a competent preacher who knows how to deliver a talk. There are literally thousands of ways how to deliver a talk. That person ( who wants to talk) has to go to work and find out what is best for him or her.

Experiment and craft your talk, so that people are hanging onto every word you utter. Do not be happy till you accomplish it. Work hard on your talk. If you believe your talk is the most important part of your service, you must make that a fact.

Then, put yourself in the middle and then have a service that captures the imagination of those in the church. Look at the dedication of the temple in  2 Chronicles 5 & 6. read and imagine the scene. About 4000 singers, instruments and 120 trumpets. When you imagine the scene you would have to say, the dedication of the temple has never been replicated ( Jesus, the Son of God is the sacrificed lamb, so the bloody sacrifice is not relevant, other then to understand the shedding of blood on that day was immense, indicating the importance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.).

Why put up with a lousy service, where the only people who come, are those who would even go to church if the seat was full of nails, and those who suffer the minister's talk.

You be the dynamo, and let people flock into your church, because  they want to be there. Because the service is fabulous and uplifting, and your talk is so great they want to remember what you have said.

If you are not the person to bring into fruition this vision I have painted above, well, put together a team who can get the job done.
