HOMOSEXUALITY
Homosexuality is a major issue in the religious
world.
In the non-religious world, such as the government, has moved towards making it
against the law to discriminate against any group.
The churches feel they should be allowed to discriminate against any group that
they feel are living different to the people (the Bible) who go to church.
The question needs to be asked, did God/Jesus say, that in certain circumstances you can treat people different to the way that you want people to treat you?

The man said,
`I love you. If I cannot have you, then no other man is going to have you.' |
Leviticus 19:17, You shall not hate your neighbour...you shall love your neighbour as yourself. Certainly that is saying that you must treat others the way that you want to be treated. Love others the way that you love yourself.
We know that we have to obey God. That is every person, religious, non-religious, the thieves, the liars, those who commit adultery, those who are homosexual, the thieves and the drunken. There is not a single person on the planet that is excepted from the great demand, that we have to obey God. Because one day we have to come before God and give an account of how we lived our lives ( Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14).
If we are not to discriminate against any person,
how are we going to tell people to do the right thing. That is obey God.
There
are texts that say, You are not to lie with a man as you would a woman (
Leviticus 18: 22 That is clearly saying a man is not to live life as he would a
woman). Then again, we have, If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of
them have committed an abomination (Leviticus 20:13). And these chapters make a
list of other matters such as having sex with an animal. Also incest is not to
be allowed, such as taking a rival wife, or a sister etc. So really we are
dealing with the Moral Law. Also we agree that the Ten Commandments are still
applicable in the 21st century.
If you say, that it does not matter how you live, and you live
opposite to what God tells you, then you are laughing at God. That would be a
terrible mistake.
Now, what are we to do as Christians, with people
who live different lives? Well, our job is not to judge people, our job is to
preach the gospel. That is, call out to people around us to come to
God. To recognize
who Jesus is, and for them to come to Jesus to have their sins forgiven.
If that happens then a person will be a Christian, he or she will be a true blue
child of God.
Let God sort out the problems, Jesus will sort out those who
lie, the thieves, the incest, the homosexuality etc and etc. Basically, I am
saying, it is not your job to sort out the problems. If a problem is to be
sorted out, let Jesus/God do it. Your job and my job is to preach the gospel so
that there will be an influx of people who come into the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is a living person. His Holy Spirit will do the job it was meant to do in the world. He will Judge and convict those who come under the gospel and the Holy Spirit will help people to know who Jesus is.
So treat every person the same as you would like to be treated. Let God do the judging, not you.
You cannot take away from any person the right to live their lives as they feel they should. After all, that is what you do. Every person has a freedom of making choices, even if we disagree with their choices.
SO PREACH THE GOSPEL. SO PREACH THE GOSPEL.
