It is noticeable that people need to be trained to deal with people. How to interact with each other.
If you are in a position that you should lead people in a committee setting, then you need to bring yourself up to date about how people respond to your leadership. 
There is nothing worse then an inept leadership group who are lacking the basic people skills.
Get hold of good books on this subject.

I am in about six committees. Some (members) show true `people skills' in leadership. Others need to work through issues, such as missing clear leadership skills.
Some committees around the village/town/district are hopeless.
Leadership means exactly that, you are meant to inspire people in your group and people around you. If your community does not see you as a leader there is a possibility you are kidding yourself. The world is full of people deluded about themselves. Make sure you are not one of them.
Hunt down the skills and make them part of your life.
People, people, people, people and more people is what life is about.

With  people skills, people will work with you to accomplish a goal.

Emotional Intelligence.
Motivation, success, self awareness.
How do others feel?
How do you feel?
Empathy for others.
Her talk is exactly what I am talking about.
If you are dealing with people you need to search and get hold of material on this subject. 
The book shops will have a lot of books on this subject.
Do yourself a favor. 
Get hold of people skills and you will find people will respond positively to your leadership.
