My wish is to talk to you a bit about God.
As a Christian, I encourage you to find a way to spend time with Jesus/God/Holy Spirit. 

If you go to a church, if you do good things as a Christian keep doing them. 

I am talking about your personal time with God. It has taken me years to get into a habit where I spend time each day with my God, and  your God. 
That time for me has become precious and an exciting time. 
I find that as I read my Bible God is definitely teaching me personally. It is a one to one situation. As you read your Bible and think about it, you will find that an amazing reality that you are talking to God and he is talking to you.

Put it to the test. Pick a time when you are not rushed. For me I get up for about an hour sometime between 1am to 4am. After I finish I usually lie down for an hour or so if I get up at 1 or 2 am. The key is pick a period in your day when you are not thinking about rushing away to do other things.

I am finding through experience that God does teach you, he moulds you. And through your time with him he also guides you through life.
The minister of your church should not be the person who tells you what to do. God will lead you and he will take you to the work he wants you to do. Of course, it could be what the minister wants you to do, or maybe not.

It is important for you to do God's work. Not a  work, he or she thinks is for you, the work they organize for you , may not be what God wants you to do.

Time with God is never unprofitable.
Test the water, you might end up walking on the water, doing the things that you never believed you could do.
With God, nothing is impossible.
