FM          NEWS

We have a group who live in Deepwater and Glen Innes who have been working towards supplying voices in the community through the vehicle of FM. They have been successful in being granted a licence in Deepwater. The Station is known as 2CBD and 91.1 on your dial.

Currently in Glen Innes they are hoping to receive a licence shortly. 

The ABA advertised in October 2003 to see if any other groups were interested in running a FM Community station in Glen Innes. The 24th November was the cut off time and the only application that was received was the organisation that calls itself,  Deepwater & Districts Community FM Radio Inc. The same group who were successful in receiving the Deepwater FM licence.

My hope is that they are successful in receiving the licence because they are a group that have had the determination to overcome obstacles. There is no reason why the service in Glen Innes would not be a great success, similarly to the successful FM Station in Tenterfield.

So the incoming group on the committee, Des, David, Elizabeth, Geoff, Godfrey, Monique and also those who have been putting in the finance and expertise to make the FM station to be a reality. I wish you every success in your endeavor.(29-4-004 there might have been some changers in personel)
