Hendrik de Jong 22-7-006 To Hein F Basson.General Manager. Glen Innes Severn Council. and the Glen Innes Examiner. Article, Glen Innes Examiner titled : Radioactvie row by Grant Banks Thursday, 20 July 2006 I thank Grant Banks for doing the story concerning Deepwater Railway. The source of his story is his interview with me at the Deepwater Railway and the information I have on my Web sites. Even though I am not happy with how the story came out I thought it was good in use of sources and the interview with Mark Trethewey. The positive that came out of the story was that I received responses from Glen Innes FM and Deepwater FM members. I received a Fax from Wayne Jones President of 2CBD letting me know, that the 2CBD Management Committee had discussions with Hein Basson, General Management of Glen Innes Shire Council. The 2 CBD put forward all issues at hand. These need to be finalized once for the best of all concerned. These has been taken on board by council. A response from council according to MR Basson will be forthcoming. A response to both your committee and 2 CBD’s will be informed of council’s position on matters at hand. This could take a couple of weeks according to MrBasson The 2nd positive, I noticed the large 75 metre tower was removed and containers full of cement were removed. Because of this positive response from Grant Bank’s story a drought has been broken. For the first time in 6 years the FM group has responded to my concerns. A great thank you. My journey over the years has been my own journey, through personal letters to FM and through my own site www.hendrikdejong.com and the last being a Tribute to those who started reviving the Deepwater Railway Station. www.deepwaterrailway.com and I attached to the end information that came from my own glen innes severn councilglensite; the title was Tragedy and Trashing the site which suited my site focus. This type focus on my site has brought 100s onto my sites each week. So this was my journey working at the Deepwater Railway and this supplied meat for my sites. I mentioned to three members of the Deepwater Railway Committee that I was putting up information and the Title was a ‘Tribute to a group who came together to save the Deepwater Railway building and the Tragedy that started in 1997” . However it came as a shock to the Deepwater Railway Committee to receive front page. As shocked as I was. It brought up issues the the Deepwater Railway Committee had buried for years, so that they could finally work with the FM Committee. The Deepwater Railway Committee was not pleased that I mixed my personal journey with the FM giving the indication they had the same journey. Clearly they did not. I apologize, it was my mistake. In Response to the Article in the Glen Innes Examiner 20th the Deepwater Railway Committee agrees with, Mr Purcell comments, on the positive role the community radio station was playing in keeping the site safe from vandals by often having somebody on there, Mr Trethewey claimed. So there has been a positive for my Journey with Deepwater FM, they have responded finally. So my FM journey has ended. Any material concerning FM and my journey has been removed from my sites. The story has ended. Deepwater Citizen Hendrik
